 Peppermint Patties

You Will Need(for twenty sweets):4 cups confectioner's sugar, 1 egg white, juice of half a lemon, a few drops of peppermint extract and green food coloring, bar of baker's chocolate, sieve, mixing bowl, cookie cutter, and a wooden spoon. Step 1; sieve the confectioner's sugar into a large mixing bowl. Step 2; seperate the egg yolk from the white-ask an adult to help you with this. Add the egg white to the confectioner's sugar. Step 3; mix it all together with your hands until you have made a soft lump. Add the lemon juice, fruit extract, and green food coloring. Step 4; pour the lump out onto a cold surface and flatten it to about a half inch thick. Cut out the shapes, put them on a tray, and leave them in a cool, dry place to set. Step 5; break up the bar of chocolate and put it in a bowl. Put the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water and stir the chocolate until it has melted. Step 6; take the bowl off the heat and quickly dip half of each sweet into the chocolate. Leave the sweets until the chocolate hardens.

ENJOY!!!

 Candy Cushions

You Will Need(for each cushion): 1 piece of gold-colored fabric 20x28 inches, 1 piece of colored netting 20x28 inches, newspaper, white glue, 2 strong rubber bands, cushion filling(such as polyester filling), half yard of gold ribbon. Step 1; glue the two pieces of fabric together along the longer edges. Stick the short edges together to make a tube. Put newspaper inside to stop the glued seam from sticking to the other side. Leave it to dry. Step 2; gather up one end about 5 inches from the edge and hold it in place with one of the rubber bands. Wind the band around several times to make it secure. Step 3; start stuffing the cusion with the filling until it has filled to about 5 inches from the top. Step 4; close the end with the other rubber band. Fan out the ends of the cushion to make them look like candy wrappers. Step 5; glue some gold ribbon over the rubber band s so they don't show.
